Another boss, but an important one since this boss's death means access to the final dungeon of the game is granted.

Magimaster is all about the wallchange gimmick. Flipping his resistances around at a fairly decent clip means you might have to regularly spam Scan. Alternatively, hit him with the opposite element he attacks with (So earth if he attacks with wind for example).

Now, you might be wondering if physicals can be used here. They can...later in the fight. Use it near the start before he's lost enough hp and you stand a good chance of seeing his Overkill counter that will more or less flatten all but the hardiest of warriors, then an Elixir follow up to restore 9999 hp. After he's lost enough hp, he won't use the Elixir follow up.

Aside from that, his damage output isn't too harsh. If you could handle something like Purple-D, then this guy will be no issue.

Anyways, a bit about the characters seen here.

First, there's Cyan. He's basically the physical variant of Strago. Namely, he doesn't have a whole lot of speed, but he hits like a truck, especially if he's vigor skewed. His unique skillset, Bushido, gives him access to as many as 8 different attacks (all of which become available if you complete his personal sidequest, level requirements for moves be damned).

One thing the latest versions changed is that three of his Bushidos now have power that's relative to how high his Bat.Pwr is (Dispatch, Flurry, Tempest). Makes him quite scary I'd say.

Luckily, if vigor isn't your cup of tea, he makes a great stamina stacked character. His primary esper for pouring stamina ELs into also grants him hp boosts, making him very tanky. Two of his Bushidos (Dragon, Eclipse) also happen to be stamina reliant attacks.

Next...Terra. We've seen her before, but now she's running a very stamina heavy build. Still able to output some damn fine physical damage via using the stamina reliant Omega Weapon, but now can enhance her magic abilities using Morph while not taking sky high damage thanks to stamina lowering how much extra damage Morph applies while active.

Finally...X. I decided to reset his ELs and shove them all into Terrato for kicks. Couple that with a Black Heart relic and his max hp is hovering around 3.8k+. Who gives a damn about elemental weaknesses when he can just eat it with that huge of an hp pool? Even so, he can make use of that massive hp pool by way of his Mantra blitz. Heals all team members aside from himself based on his current hp remaining. Stamina factors into how much this can heal for so plenty of Stray ELs can let him match or even exceed the amount of hp he's healing here.

Finally...what Magimaster drops. At first, it's a relic for Terra that'll halve her mp costs and has some nice stat boosts alongside it. Very nice if she plans to spam her high cost tier 3 elemental spells. Failing that, it can be bet at the colosseum for a similar relic, but only for Celes. Beyond that, you can bet that relic for a Crystal Orb, a relic that finally gives a magic damage boost and isn't restricted to a few people at most.
