Another optional dragon to tango with here. Red-D is the fire dragon so expect to be seeing lots of Fire 3 spam. I want to say it also has access to S. Cross, but never used it here...and thank god for that. It is by far the strongest fire nuke in the game, hitting everyone for damage comparable to a focused Fire 3, meaning you bring fire resistance at a bare minimum or you are standing a good chance of seeing someone hit the floor.

Its non-elemental assault is deadly too. Blow Fish for a flat 1000 damage to a target and the ever deadly Flare that hits for a good 1400+ damage. Failing that, it can use Bserk. Anyone not planning to use heavy physical might should bring in protection to that ailment.

Anyways...well, it was inevitable for me to bring a X/Rex/Zero trifecta of destruction upon some random sucker dragon. While X is the same as ever (namely, punching things to death), both Zero & Rex are employing different builds for this fight. Rex is all out boosting his magic via Shoat which goes well with him spamming the Snowball Jazz dance over and over. Two of the moves the Red-D is weak to and the other two benefit the team quite nicely (Mirage's image setting or Ice Rabbit's full team heal).

As for Zero, he's going full support via lots of Siren levels for magic & speed with a few dropped into Unicorn for some extra hp. He's got a few tools to take advantage of this. Flash hits all enemies and is pretty good for randoms, but otherwise isn't the best for bosses. He does have two brand new tools seen in this hack though. Mana Battery grants a target some extra mp and Defibrillator which revives a target, both scaling off of his magic score. Toss on a Nirvana Band relic and he can be a very nice healer via Cure 2 spam.

The reward for this fight...a Dragon Hide. Nice defenses, likely the best Strago or Relm is going to find, good stat boosts for stamina & magic, and halves fire & wind damage.

Finally...Red-D, your first move was not one of your brightest moves, especially on Umaro.

...Oh yeah, should talk about him real quick. He hits hard. That's about it. There are some nifty quirks though. If he has the Blizzard Orb relic equipped, he can use the same Blizzard move he used when your team battled against him.

The Rage Belt though? This'll let Umaro body check things for a ton of damage. He can even pick up other party members and toss them at the enemies. As you'll also notice, if a boss uses a counter after someone gets tossed, the counter will target the one who was tossed and not Umaro. The catch? If he tosses Mog, the damage dealt is enhanced, likely letting Umaro hit the 9999 damage cap or come very close to it.

Just a couple more optional dragons and one sidequest boss to drop before the journey to the endgame begins.
