We finish the maingame portion of my Bravely Second no experience / low level challenge with what is possibly the most anticlimactic final boss battle ever in my challenge experience.

The creators of the game did their best to make the final boss challenging and interesting. Among the threats faced, we've got the tricky-to-handle Doom status, boss ordering us to attack our own characters to avoid a destructive blow and Dispel being spammed in the last two battles, which would prevent us from maintaining essential buffs for survival and possibly offence.

There is however one little problem... They forgot to make the boss healthy enough for all these dangers to materialise, as we can reliably wallop each of the three forms of the boss within a single turn (on the 1st turn in the opening fight, then on the 2nd one in the next battle, which is repeated twice).

Ventriloquism combo'd with Yokai's Echo ability may have proved powerful against Anne, the previous boss, but I needed both a more reliable and a more powerful damage output option for these fights. The result of my search was utilising Mimic on two Good Measure/MP Free in a Pinch/Full Charge/M Atk 20% UP so that they would be able to deal 9,999 x 8 x 4 damage in a single turn, which is just enough to beat the final Providence boss and its minions in one single turn.

The first battle is only a little bit shaky as I can't quite 100% RNG the battle - I can't predict who the boss will be attacking. However, with my 4th, support, character using Noble Eagle on all units and Soul Mirror on 3 allies, there's likely what seems like a 75% chance that the physical attack will bounce off and not kill anybody of note. Actually, we can't afford to have anyone die here, as we need MP Free in a Pinch to activate in the 2nd fight, and for that we must be in critical health when this fight is over.

The second battle starts really quickly with the boss's hands not wasting any time and assaulting the party. Luckily, they lose all their BP while doing so, so this couldn't have been a better time to use Bishop's Calm, which is a staple strategy for the 1st turn. I have my supporter (reclassed to Kaiser with Bishop's skillset secondary) also use Noble Eagle so that Good Measure results in us hitting the damage cap with all our Meteor Rains.

Dispel does nothing to us here, and the Meteor Meteor Rain (+Good Measure) + Mimic x8 strat successfully employed in the opening fight sees reliable application here, guaranteeing our success.

Some storyline occurs after the second fight (previously showcased in a blooper video on my channel; however, I skip through all the storyline on this recording so as not to crash my console while recording again) and then we have to do the same final battle all over again. Honestly, there's little point as I simply re-act my two turn strategy again with no changes made.

Perhaps, a way to preserve the challenge would be to make the final boss healthier at the expense of not repeating the battle - if the final boss cannot be vanquished in one turn, the party radically changes to withstand the boss's attacks for numerous turns instead of just the opening one.

And so, the maingame portion of yet another RPG challenge has been completed. I do intend to return to it for the postgame as much of the maingame, the final battles most notably, did leave a lot to be desired.
