In this episode of GAO R2 (Run 2), we decided to get back into space AFTER initiating genesis on one planet.

We know we have encountered a DIFFERENT O2 genesis candidate before, and we may be able to do it again... Start with only 4 of my old crew, maybe an artifact or two, and get back into space... This is called "Continue+" in the main menu after you achieved Genesis.

I decided to do that, and I chose 4 commanders as my core crew.

My first priority is to fill out the roster again, and as my biotank was full at 40, it's a simple matter of cloning 8 new crew members. I decided on half human and half arachnoid, as both are O2 breathers.

A rogue ship came at me when I was still cloning the noobs. I decided to counter-board him by letting him come close and start hitting him with the ship assault hits, but somehow this rogue has enough firepower to hurt my shields! I got "shield failure imminent". I decided it's better to get away so I ran for the bridge and jumped away, and the shield soon stabilized.

A check of inventory shows way too much panels, cable, circuit, centrifuge, i.e. EXPENSIVE items, but short on gunpowder and battery.

So I got to the bridge and use the nav computer to start filtering for batteries and gunpowder (you can only filter for one item at a time) and to get away from the rogues I have to go south by southwest anyway.

Was able to locate a system or two with the needed materials and started mining, while I start cleaning up the interior of minor spore infestations that keep getting into the deposit section of the ship. However, I have at least 5 turrets in each deposit and they are on the patrol route of the 2 hulking combat bots, so it doesn't get worse. It's just... annoying.

I did get a "zot" infection spreading among the crew but I was able to gather enough samples and generate a cure almost before the crew made it to their quarters to recover.

Got most of the rookies promoted to sergeant and lieutenant when another rogue appeared. However, this time, I am going to him. I quickly summoned two more crew to ship assault while grabbing turrets and barriers.

Started on the workstation, and blam, blam, blam. Turns out this time, my gunnery is a lot better than his. I beat down his shields easily, and I scanned... there's just the Mechanics Captain, his crew, and some biomass. And his shields are down.

So I beamed over. And it seems I always beam into the bar / lounge area. No turrets at least. But there sure are a lot of red dots around me. I immediately drop a turret or two. Then decided to move around under the floor. Then noticed a ramp coming down to my level, and left a turret right there. Then just moved back and forth, back and forth, and watch the turret blast all comers. Finally the coast seems clear. I drop one turret at each door leading out, then opened door... right into another turret.

Dodged out of the way, took a hit, but was able to heal. Shot the turret next time door opened. Shot more mechanics charging my position. Decided not to explore upper levels, as the ship seems to be losing a corridor. Explore toward the greenhouses and checked each corridor, using turret as security.

Also rescued a prisoner, a Rok guy, took him with me, but I don't have air for him...

NOTE: To release him on the enemy ship, just shoot at the barrier on the door with any weapon, as if it's a portable barrier. Once it's depleted, walk up to him and talk to him (E). You'll get a prompt if you want him to be rescued. If you do, he goes into a "rescue chamber" back at your ship.

NOTE: if you do have air for him, you can release him and he can become a part of your crew.

Eventually made it into the greenhouse, left a turret in front of one door, and try a different door out of the greenhouse, and circled around. I was able to refill my turrets and my ammo with their arms locker.

I did come across the biotank and got a cool radio intercept "Intruder detected at the biotank!" I also noticed some corridors are leaking air badly, and I need to stay away from there.

Then it's a matter of being patient and clearing the ship of its rogue crew. Which I did. One of my turrets had killed the commander, and I did find a suit upgrade lying around in the greenhouse.

Decided the rest of the ship is boring and beamed back to my ship. Should have retrieved my turrets (left all of them on the enemy ship). Resources *are* a limited supply in this universe.

That's two rogues down. How many more are to go? I've purged the inventory down to a reasonable level, and I know where the other O2 planet is.

I want a clone lab II or higher, but I need to figure out how to purge inventory enough so I can build it.

I probably should purge the plants as I don't plan to build another greenhouse.
