The sound on this one got really messed up, so I put a song over it. Hope you don't mind.

This battle happens to be even longer than the one against Nizbel II, however, it is much more entertaining and the word "tedious" does not come to use when describing it.

Azala himself has 2500 HP, Black Tyrano has 8K more, therefore we eliminate Azala first. He is resistant to physical attacks and should be hit with magic, so we slowly cast spells at him with Marle (with Crono too, but he dies way too soon and does not need to be revived since he's too fragile anyway). Ayla kisses herself and Marle, sometimes revives Marle when she dies. I also had Ayla attack Azala (which does less damage than Marle's Ice but nevertheless helps to end this battle faster) when Black Tyrano was charging his limit break.

To make Black Tyrano's fire attacks less frightening, equip the Ruby Fast to halve the damage.

Once Azala is dead, revive Crono and have the three characters attack Black Tyrano non-stop. His defence lowers considerably and you can inflict good damage to him, especially with Ayla (almost 160 damage, 320 during critical hits). Once he is nearing death (use a calculator to count the reduced HP), do not revive Marle and Crono and just solo.

I used around 5-7 Mid Ethers, three Mid Tonics and approximately 15 Revives in this battle. Compared to Nizbel II it is a great relief.

Background music: Jethro Tull - "Thick As A Brick" (Yes, this is actually a 40+ minute long song which I cut a bit and put on during the entire battle).
