Create ELDEN RING in Unity ► EP. 20 WEAPON ITEMS (Pt. 2)
In this video we create the "Melee Weapon Damage Collider", a collider that will allow us to set the damage of our weapon upon equipping it. We also create the functionality to swap our weapons. The weapon swap will work as it does in Elden Ring, which is the following.
If you have ONE weapon equipped, upon switching you will switch to the "Unarmed" weapon, switch again and you will return to your main equipped weapon.
If you have MORE THAN ONE weapon equipped, you will always skip the unarmed slot, and you will cycle between the two weapons you have equipped.
We then sync our weapon switches online, we do this by creating an "Item Database". We use this to sync our current right and left weapons using their weapon id (an int) as a network variable, when the network variable changes it will fetch the new weapon from the database using its ID, it will then be instantiated and equipped, the weapon switch will appear for everybody on the network.
