Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate - Xbox - Intro, Attract & Arcade Playthrough as Tina [4K60]
Full longplay / playthrough / walkthrough / trueplay as Tina Armstrong in arcade mode. Tecmo put Sega to shame when they perfectly ported the Sega Saturn version of Dead or Alive to the original Xbox as a bonus extra on Dead or Alive Ultimate. They even took the time to add in online support to this version, clearly someone at Tecmo made sure they kept hold of their source code.
Tecmo appear to regard the Sega Saturn port superior both to the Model 2 arcade version and the PlayStation version ++. While it misses the 3D back drops of the arcade it does feature a number of balance tweaks and is packed full of extra modes and unlockable content. The PlayStation version is widely regard as the black mark in the series hence why that version wasn't included in the series. Played in this video on the Xbox 360 to get the best quality.
While the original Dead or Alive did have it flaws, it remains the purest outing in the series to date. Many characters had moves in this one that were later removed for the sequel and the stage design worked far better in this one with the simple floor and danger zone. The control system was also more complex in some areas and turned down for the sequel, rightly so in some areas. The balancing was a little off in this first one Tina can remove 75% of an opponents health in one throw and Jann Lee can do almost 50% damage in one damage. Making some fights very one sided.
The Saturn port itself used code from Virtua Fighter 2 and Team Ninja and AM2 at Sega have had a working relationship for many year with some Virtua Fighter characters appearing in Dead or Alive 5.
