Welcome to Demon's Souls, Second (and Third, and Fourth...) Chance edition.

No skills were used in the making of this series. =)

This level has perhaps one of the most precise and demanding paths in the entire game. I happen to pull it off flawlessly here (up to the boss door), but that almost never happens. Fortunately, most of the things that will kill you in this stage are a single isolated hit, so Second Chance does amazing at offsetting the difficulty here.

0:41 The level begins. I cast Second Chance, then equip the Eternal Warrior's Ring and my shield. I leave the Silver Catalyst on just in case I die on the run, I'll spawn with enough MP to cast Second Chance without wasting an Old Spice.

1:19 Don't run while ascending these stairs. It will prevent the dragon from coming early and killing you on your first crossing (even if you mess it up, Second Chance will save you).

1:40 If you got caught by the dragon (or archers I suppose), renew Second Chance here.

You want to start running again after hearing the first time the dragon flaps its wings after completing dousing this area with fire. Once you hear that first flap, it means he will have begun looping around to spray the first zone again, and you can run through the second zone without his interruption. It's sometimes hard to hear the flap. My dragon's audio was doing weird things in this particular run, so I have to do my timing mainly on instinct.

1:50 There are four enemies on the other side of these barriers, you want to roll right between the 3rd and 4th from the left.

1:57 This group of enemies is why we aren't wearing the Thief's Ring. With the Thief's Ring off, you can lure them all over to the left like this, then run past them on the right. Once you get the timing down here it's nearly 100% consistent, but it can be hard to learn. After you're past them you want to raise your shield immediately for the upcoming archers. This is the point where you're most likely to take a hit until you've had a lot of practice at this route.

2:09 Rest here while waiting for the archers to forget about you. Put the Thief's Ring on instead of Eternal Warrior's. If you lost Second Chance, renew it, and use a grass to get to full health (important because there are more upcoming archers who may shoot your shield).

3:01 Attacking during this animation is very risky. But if he had hit me I would have simply renewed Second Chance again.

3:05 No idea what's up with the dragon's audio here... that wasn't a capture issue, my game really did that, and never has before.

3:34 This path is way safer and easier than it looks. Just make sure you're holding your shield up. I even mess up here and don't manage my stamina well, and still don't run into any problems.

3:43 DO NOT hesitate at the fog door. Notice there is an arrow coming at me from behind here. You are much safer in the boss's chamber than you are waiting here. Run straight to the safe spot at 3:59.

3:49 Run right on top of Tower Knight. Nothing he does will hit you here (I don't think... he's never gotten me, at least). If you try to "play it safe" and stay further away from him, he'll nail you with his lance.

Tower Knight is honestly one of the easiest bosses in the game. For the most part you can just run in here with your DLS+5 or even Crescent Falchion +4, and take him down in a matter of seconds. However, as I said, the run through 1-2 is one of the most precise runs in the game under these difficulty settings, so when I was still getting good at it, every time I took a couple of cheap hits and died on Tower Knight it was driving me crazy. It's a lot harder to safely renew Second Chance if you're down in the arena with him, so I came up with this method to make this battle a 100% guaranteed victory. It's a little slow for such an easy boss, but it fits the tone of this "no skills" run well.

6:13 Well this is a horrible exchange. My arrow hits the edge but his lance doesn't. Don't worry, this almost never happens. Still, this is why we keep Second Chance active.
