DFFOO [JP][Act 4 Chapter 8 Part 2] Agrias BT with semi-turn hog lightning and Onion Knight FR board
I actually feel kinda bad that I only realised Agrias is using Northswain's Strike with her BT when she yells "北斗骨砕打" after Ramza used Yell on her. The red hue made me think that she was using Divine Ruination again. Also I suspect that what Ramza does in this attack is a dramatic version of Earth Slash from monk.
I included quite a few elements in this episode. I got OK BT for a long time without realisation and I got both his and Agrias FR (and BT), so I just realised everything this time. I put Lightning in as well for a semi-hog potential test. It actually ran pretty well and just as expected. Well maybe if I have time, I really can do a meme run.
Boss: Blue Dragon
Orb limit: 8
+2: On turn pass, player attacks a target with disability debuff
-1: Player action
-2: Boss action
Force:
0%: Turn deletion/delay immunity (excluding breaks)
FA: Blizzard+ (break recovery, AOE ice BRV+HP)
-1T debuff on every boss
Recovery thresholds (80%): 50/80%
- cancelled when player manipulate a character to the front of the turn queue
General Appraoch:
This one is particularly not friendly to counter teams that require bosses to move, because the orb is -2 when boss has a turn and you can only gain a net +1 when you attack a disabled target during your turns. It will be a really hassle to maintain the orb with a counter approach.
Since the boss cannot be delayed or deleted, you can try using turn manipulating characters, hoggers or someone that facilitate breaks. My first clear was actually with Noel FR, since it just kept breaking the boss away on every turn.
Note that the FA lowers debuff duration on the bosses by 1T, so something like Raijin LDCA would eventually fall off even though they may not have a turn but with continuous FA fired off.
To cancel the HP recovery, simply use a turn manipulation tool that moves a character to the front. Even a Cid Raines CA+LDCA would take care of the entire fight. You can also bring Jesse, Rem, Raines or OK.
Regarding OK:
Ok actually get quite a big boost and something weird this time. The balance still favours ninja (physical, ST) more, but overall he is quite nice.
I think this is probably his peak form so far.
Most of the rework are HP hit boosts. Notably his S2 now hits 15 times and ninja EX hit 9x2=18 times. S1 hits 7 times while both Sage EX and LD hits 9 times AOE.
2 things to be aware though. His S2 now somehow does not consume any BRV, and his LD has an odd distribution of 2 BRV hits x4 + 3 BRV hits x5. If you have a sufficient amount of HP dmg up with BT/FR going, maybe you would get it to cap. Otherwise, there is a great chance that the first 4 HP hits would not cap. So look out for that if you are in a DPS crunch.
His BT finally gets 30% party cap up but no self cap. I guess that is compensated by his very high HP hit counts. Also he straight up gets true ice enchant now, so no more AA ice enchant needed.
Also his FR is now standardised to have 80% gain and upgraded to 5 HP hits now.
If you boost his caps, he should do quite a substantial amount of dmg. What I did here is basically a hogger DPS team run, so there isn't much DPS support.
Regarding Agrias:
The beautiful Agrias finally returns with FR/BT. She is not a hyper DPS, but interestingly there are quite a lot of shenanigans you can do with her.
Mechanically, Agrias' Brave(ry) buff actually got a big increase in paralysis chance. I can't say for sure it means you don't need AA to 100% inflict paralysis for Judgement Blade though.
Also her BRV+ with faded moly now his no AD and turn count. So you can instantly recover and do something else. Coming along with this is that her LD on use also inflict 1T worth of confusion automatically. The process of keeping enemy disabled should be quite smooth now.
Also her FR inflicts 2T paralysis as well. So you can have faded moly, silence and paralysis from her at the same time.
Agrias BT is the most interesting part of her now. With her BT active, any characters attacking on turn would get her to do a follow-up. This follow-up not only increases all debuff inflicted by Agrias by 1T, it also deals 1% max HP dmg +2 more normal HP dumps. This transforms Agrias into a gravity HP off-turn attacker, and she can continuously extend her disability debuff durations.
I would say her value is at the peak when there is no FR HP bonus or during retention, since her gravity HP attack does not scale with it but boss max HP. Also, if the boss has a massive HP pool (like Memoria Battles), she will do very well.
You can use hoggers to preemptively push bosses through some of the pesky threshold events, just like what I did with Lightning here. You can technically kill the boss without FR at all. At most it takes 100 attacks, some hoggers can definitely do it within turn count.
Alternatively, you can consider pairing Agrias with people that like debuffs, such as Arciela or Faris. The duration extension would benefit Faris alot while farming off-turn attacks.
