Do Anchovies Pair Well with Steak?! |Cafe de Paris Butter recipe #shorts
Anchovies on a steak is a type of Surf n Turf I never thought I’d enjoy… and while I’ve still never tried directly using the anchovies, this Cafe de Paris Butter is the perfect way to bring that salty goodness to a steak in a less overwhelming way!
Not to mention… this is the cover recipe for my Cookbook dropping later this year!! (Preorder links in the Bio!! )
Ingredients:
• Steak of choice
• Salt and pepper
• 1 stick of kerrygold butter
• 2 tbsp diced shallot• 2 cloves garlic , finely minced • 3 anchovy fillets, diced or 3/4 tsp anchovy paste
• 1 tsp lemon zest
• 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tsp Dijon mustard
• 1 tsp mild curry powder
• 1/2 tsp paprika
• 2 tsp tarragon , finely chopped
• 2 tsp parsley , finely chopped
Start by preheating the oven to 250°F, we are looking to cook reverse seared and this temp is perfect for the oven!
Season the steak on all sides with salt and pepper, then place on a cooking rack and get in the oven. Don’t go off time here, you want to wait until the internal hits 125!
While we wait, Combine everything in a mixing bowl then you can transfer to the fridge to solidfy and develop the flavors more!
When the steak has reached the proper internet temp, take it out and melt down some beef tallow in a skillet over medium high to high heat. We’re looking for a hot and fast sear!
Carefully place the steak in and sear for 45-60 seconds per side. Baste if needed to get the best possible crust, and take it out to let rest.
Top it off with a portion of the butter, melt it over the top and enjoy!!
