https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/a-c/chord_ng You can't ever judge a wad based on a single picture until you've played it as I've learned with the Top 100 wads of all time, There's some that failed to impress me or didn't seem that interesting while ones that seemed boring actually captured my attention, this one was placed at 10th out of ten wads for the 1997 in the said top 100 wads of all time.

CHORD_NG is the 3rd wad out of 5 that were made in the Chord series by Malcom Sailor, and was released on November 5th 1997 and requires you to use IDCLEV28 or map map28 command in the console, Its a map that pays heavy tribute to TEETH.Wad (The Express Elevator To Hell) designed by Cranium in The Master Levels, 76 monsters in total with 50 being chaingunners and its by far one of the hardest wads I've gone over in recent memory but for reasons unlike other wads.

CHORD_NG's main difficulty comes from the chaingunners who are on all 4 "elevators" and scattered throughout the top parts of this map, the overall path isn't clear at first as several pathways are blocked by colored skull key blockades, Often times you'll turn around and see you are boxed in not just by chaingunners but also ARCHVILES so that should tell you how cruel Sailor's map will become.

Ammo's a serious concern in CHORD_NG, Supershotgun will run out of shells really quick and the shells/health are placed at the very bottom of the elevators in small corners which was very annoying, placement of health and ammo makes me think that Sailor made this particular Chord wad with an ammo puzzle in mind, I didn't get too far but despite the minimalist styling of this map it does give a challenge, and I'd imagine that there are fans out there of this wad.
