https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/megawads/biowar Losing my mind going back in time.. to 1999 the year before the beginning of the 2000's, I still miss the 1990's because of how it, in my opinion was the definitive peak of gaming of the time and obviously, Doom remained high with its wad making community, I had been looking for 1999 wads to go over and found this while browsing megawads category on the Doom wiki.

Operation Biowar was released on November 21rst 1999 authored by Paul Corfiatias, John Bishop, and Chris Harbin with original music by Mark Klem of Requiem, Memento Mori and other wad fame, and several tracks from the GothicDM series of deathmatch wads, Unlike Mars War which came one year before this megawad, Operation Biowar is somewhat generic but manages to stand out and actually be good.

The story follows the UAC making a alliance with TCHERNOBOG, a high ranking Demon who sells the soul of everyone that was working for them for unlimited demon weapons, Flynn Taggart, who was the protagonist of the Doom novels is among those dead, and now as a new Doom marine we're out to destroy TCHERNOBOG once and for all and deal with the UAC's betrayal across 19 levels.

Operation Biowar can't escape the one bad thing which is it's ammo placement, It always felt like the amount of shotgun shells and bullets and plasma were lower than in other 1999 wads, and this lack of ammo made it hard to get through past map05, The mapping of this megawad is rough in some areas but it certainly has its highs too with broken walls being well built with static meshes etc, It's not a Diamond by any means but Operation Biowar is better than I expected it to be.
