https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=58501& Move to the beat, of a different drum or however it goes, song verse aside I've never know of "speedmidis" until I found this strange creation by Pinchy who has contributed to many many projects including the Abysmal Speedmapping Session series, Doomworld Mega Project series, The DUMP trilogy, and the MAYhem series among other collabs, but it's this 2017 "Super Megawad" which caught my attention the most out of Pinchy's work.

Released on November 19th 2017 and honored as a runner up at the 2018 caocawards, The Alfonzone is a 10 episode nearly 50 plus wad set that is very unique in the sense that every 5 levels of each "Episode" follows their own style such as Nighttime City, Rich Manor Life, Ancient Ruins, Industrial Factory among others, and each map has unique midi music all composed by Alfonzo.

Unique to The Alfonzone is each map has it's little own story that appears in a intermission screen after you load the first map and then after you finish that map, the story continues through each intermission screen, Lot of new textures make each map stand out from the others. Don't believe that The Alfonzone is easy by any means either, As you move along in chapters the plutonia experiment and scythe II influences will become very evident quickly, Last episode is outrageously hard but oh so fun.

In the case of The Alfonzone, It strikes me as much different from the other 2018 wad releases as something never done before, something new that any player regardless of experience would like to try and enjoy, Prior to actually playing it I had though the concept wouldn't work but I was very wrong, You owe to see this.. perfect gem of a wad, I think its among the finest of the modern wads so far I've gone over.
