Its a pleasure to see how many Episode replacements that Ultimate Doom has in the modern times, it speaks to me of how Episode replacements which once weren't that common are returning in popularity. This is so far the latest work from the author of Dawn of the Dead, The Darkening and The Darkening 2, The Classic Episode 1 & 2 and Endgame, I speak of Jan Van der Veken.
Released on March 20th 2016, No Sleep for the Dead is a spiritual sucessor to Dawn of the Dead and is a Episode 1 replacement. When E1M1, Phobos Terminal opens up with a midi version of Nine Inch Nails' Last, I knew this was going to be a ride. No Sleep for the Dead reflects upon Knee-Deep in the Dead's astetics while again having Jan's own creativity in it. There's a few parts that nearly got me in this episode replacement but I liked this one for being, what feels like, Jan's farewell to the community if they aren't releasing anything else.
