DreamWeb (Amiga) Playthrough / Very dark and mature cyberpunk point and clink adventure. I love it !
DreamWeb (1994 AGA Version) by Creative Reality is one of those games that reached for themes that were unusual in the genre back in the days. Even today, some of the events that take place in the game are controversial. Brutality and nudity ..... that would be unlikely to make it to the final commercial product today. If you're looking for a story that is dark, mature and bold in how it was presented by its creators, this is probably the first of its kind in the genre. At least as far as the presentation is concerned, because the creators did not take any shortcuts here. The game is a typical point and click only that with the difficulty level cranked up to the maximum. Why? Because the top down perspective forces us to hunt for pixels in many cases. Searching for items is not easy and we can interact with almost any element of the environment. That's why we've been given a magnifying glass zoom in the lower left corner of the screen to better assess whether something we're currently looking at is actually some useful object or device needed to complete our journey. All in all, it doesn't give us too much because the world is filled with objects that we can pick up but are totally useless. On top of that, we have a lot of events here leading to our imminent death if we don't react in the right way using the right object. So completing this game alone without any hint is quite a challenge....... but it is worth it. The atmosphere is grim and the music is downright depressing, fitting perfectly into this world. I personally think that the music is probably what kept me playing this game for so long..... well at least I can't resist it :P The game fits my mood and tastes so in my eyes it's almost a perfect game. I highly recommend it to every fan of adventure games with a focus on story and puzzles. I would also like to warn you that some of the video may be unclear, because it is not clear where some of the passwords and the solution to one of the puzzles comes from. This is because this information is contained in the game manual .
