Another 40s worth of PB gets me closer to sub-60, but not yet quite there. Interesting few maps I passed over before choosing one with fairly distant external oil, sure. Final reflections included that handfeeding a few speed modules to certain RCU assemblers could save ~30s in belt delay, and the run is in a spot where that 30s makes an important difference. Maybe late game personal assemblers.

Much of it feels smoother but I still find things to complain about. Small misplays I'm noticing afterwards as well. Maybe a map with closer oil, or copper that isn't inconveniently close to the smeltface, as if that's the map's fault. Or maybe having the undergrounds & steam engines & assemblers in my inventory once I'm blueprinting them. That'd help too. So the answer, yeah, it's "things to work on". Which is nice because it suggests sub-60 Wave Defense is viable for people not named Antielitz or Nefrums.
