One of the most famous chapters of the game, and definitely not for good reasons. Defense chapter, fog of war, Zephiel on the opposite side of the map who must be protected (too bad, FE6 0% growth in 0 turn sounds good to me), and Nino and Jaffar to recruit.

Zephiel can defend himself against the first bandit, but he stands no chance against the mercenaries or the Swordreaver!bandit, so I must reach these enemies before they reach Zephiel. My team is split in 2, with Harken and Isadora taking the west side to rush to Zephiel, while taking care of some thieves and Maxime on the way. Canas and Legault are also accompanying them for some chests/grind purposes.

On the east side, there is more time to spare and it’s a good occasion to train Heath’s weapon ranks and Bartre as both of them need serious babysitting now. Barter gains only 7 Exp per fight against an unpromoted unit, but he will gain a lot of Exp on chapter 31 so there is no need to force him too much here. Heath on the other hand can survive on his own but he has some troubles to deal enough damage, so it’s better if other people (read : Hawkeye) can weaken the foes for him. My newly promoted Lucius is also in this group spamming staves, and at worst he can use his Purge to finish an enemy who should not be alive. Oh and Hawkeye absorbed every hit from Ursula’s Bolting, rendering here harmless when she started moving on turn 13.

So the two new units are Nino and Jaffar (though he officially joins the team on the next chapter). Nino is a mage with slightly better stats than Erk (you know, like +2 HP or +2 Def…), so you can imagine how much I will use her. On the other side, Jaffar is extremely good with high stats everywhere, including 24 Spd (the only unit with more than 20 Spd), and even if he is sword-locked, he will assassinate people half the time he does a critical, and it’s going to happen a lot since he will have 47% critical rate with a Killing Edge (and S-rank sword), and most of the remaining enemies will be morphs (i.e. 0 Luck).

This chapter provides very important items. From the 4 chests, I got the Boots (for Heath), the Rescue Staff, the Brave Lance as well as the Delphi Shield (this last one will allow very aggressive strategies later on). Legault also stole an Earth Seal for Priscilla.

And with this, the series of annoying chapters is finally over (please don’t speak about chapter 32), and it’s now the beginning of the late game chapters. Out of all my aims I listed on chapter 25 description, everything has been done except Heath’s S-rank lance, but he is close to it and it will not have any impact on chapter 28x.

Overal CoS : Defense% (probably around 50%)
