A new video showcasing the penultimate part of this challenge playthrough - the three battles fought at Murond Holy Place. I'm still too poor to afford more Thief Hats and instead opt for more restorative items (X-Potions, Phoenix Downs and Hi-Ethers are, as always, a must).

RNG for the first fight:

16 Ramza - Mediator
15 Crono - Archer
13 Lenneth - Time Mage
15 Mitsuru - Summoner
14 Ryu - Archer

This is one of the few endgame maps without an assassination objective, so the classes that we get here are quite important. Getting two Archers is really bad, what with us not having any good bows (not like the best ones deal much damage anyway) and the best ones costing an arm and a leg. However, two female casters is probably some good luck. Ramza, on the other hand, can keep employing his Scream + Martial Arts + barefisted strategy in any class, besides Knight and Lancer, and I guess also Samurai now? Ramza's the only one with this class unlocked and we haven't seen it in action just yet. Knight is more than good enough with the Excalibur, though.

I gotta say, this was the hardest map in a while and I kept retrying it until I realised how big a difference is made by giving a couple characters just 1 extra point of speed. For example, the 3-person party with Ramza can avoid eating a potentially absurdly powerful attack from the enemy Summoner if they're just fast enough to not leave a gap that lets the Summoner cast a big one before they can do anything.

The second party has to deal with two Mediators with accurate and rather powerful (due to its reliability) gun damage, so I make sure a Chantage female is in that part of the map - letting her absorb some attacks for the party this way.

The Archers don't do much - I just give them shields so that they are less likely to die and have them function as item bots for the female casters and weakened or KO'd units. Only one has learnt Hi-Ether, though.

Haste is very useful in either party, even if it's lost when the Chantage female falls to an enemy attack.

I'm not sure if the seemingly easy battle in this recording is explained by acute preparation or luck - probably a good deal of both. The Summoner died very fast, the semi-generic Priest just spent his time healing himself out, and I only had trouble with that evadetank of a Geomancer when I ran out of MP for summons to finish him off with.

Muronde II RNG:

16 Ramza - Mediator (again)
15 Crono - Monk
13 Lenneth - Knight
15 Mitsuru - Summoner (again)
14 Ryu - Oracle

Two classes repeat here, but how much does it matter? It's essentially another assassination map and everyone but Ramza has Life Drain, which does nail Rofel pretty accurately.

I get Knight access here, which, coupled with Excalibur, means I can land one of the LDs before anyone else gets to act.

An Angel Ring works wonders in letting Ramza act, and ending it with a summon is more reliable considering it's impossible to miss with. I equip two pieces of equipment that I won't regret losing here, because we have to lose them here - no other way, I'm afraid.

Muronde 3 RNG:

16 Ramza - Wizard
15 Crono - Knight
13 Lenneth - Chemist
15 Mitsuru - Archer
14 Ryu - Knight

The battle against the poor undead brother. In spite of being a zombie, Life Drain still works, and 4 of these is all that's needed to win the fight. Ramza aims at Zalbag with Titan, which would leave Zalbag with exactly 1 HP, but one of the male Knights connects a very inaccurate Life Drain, ending the battle prematurely.

The minions don't get to do anything because... they're lv. 1 and, as such, very very slow (and weak I suppose).
