All three Limberry Castle battles are featured in this video, and besides Zalera they're all really quick due to being assassination maps.

Limberry I RNG:

15 Ramza - Squire
15 Crono - Monk
13 Lenneth - Oracle
15 Mitsuru - Thief
13 Ryu - Mediator

As you can see, Ramza gets Squire by coincidence, which means he's technically able to learn Ultima by having it cast on him by one of the Assassin ladies. Normally, I wouldn't care about it at all considering Ultima is a little weaker than a Fire 3 spell or any Summon, and those can be powered up elementally - on this run however, Ramza has the expensive Titan as his only summon and his Black Magic spell list is limited to the basic lv. 1 ones (you might remember what happened to Wiegraf...).

Squire access also translates into Excalibur access... Not such a big deal with fixed Brave (we raised it on two occasions by progressing the storyline but that's it) and low attack but; oh right, Squire Ramza can get Scream in this chapter and we've sorta been trying to get our hands on it, but the RNG didn't comply until now.

In short, Ramza needs to perform just two actions in this fight to accumulate the last JP needed to learn Scream (or Shout? I forget which one was the original name since I play both versions of the game a lot), and that's a very good power-up option for the battles to come.

The strategy here is simple - Ramza baits an Assassin so that she attacks him at point-blank range, exposing her to attacks for the rest of the party. As my action of choice, Ramza casts Haste on as many doods as possible so that they can get a couple turns in before Lede attempts to run away or do something nasty.

The characters who can attack physically for decent damage (Monk with massive attack stack and a Mythril Gun user) do so while the rest just go for Life Drain, which is more effective but less accurate than other options available.

Apandas are among the enemies whom the lv. 1 challenge makes super toothless - look at those 10 dmg attacks!

Limberry II RNG:

15 Ramza - Monk
15 Crono - Lancer
13 Lenneth - Archer
15 Mitsuru - Wizard
13 Ryu - Archer

The final fight against human Elmdor. Blade Grasp severely nerfs the physical means of dealing damage to him reliably, but Life Drain is more effective anyway. Since I have one female with Ramuh and she got Wizard, that's preferred to Life Drain on her for extra reliability.

Ramza is the only character in the party without Life Drain (surprising considering how much the RNG gave this class to me on this runthrough), so he just functions as an item bot - reviving and healing people and also being a warmbody.

Equip Armour is learnt here so that he doesn't die to a single hit - Monk's naturally high HP is invisible when you haven't levelled up at all.

Generally, re-directing some Ultimas on Elmdor helps finish this fight fairly quickly, and Angel Ring and Chantage being in play signify that I can afford to die a couple times as long as I'm not being completely overwhelmed. Without Best compat against anyone, Elmdor fails to OHKO any of my frail units.

After the fight, Ramza can access Samurai.

Limberry III / Zalera RNG:

16 Ramza - Thief
15 Crono - Archer
13 Lenneth - Knight
15 Mitsuru - Ninja
13 Ryu - Archer (again)

The game likes trolling me by giving me Archer all the time, huh? At least the Archers in question know Life Drain.

Well, Zalera is the first boss in a long time to give me so much trouble. He's absurdly fast, fires off spells quickly, has access to multiple ways of inflicting crippling negative status, and I can't even protect the entire party from sleep due to funds issues experienced in this challenge, and his damage is high enough to be dangerous, too.

Ramza is a support character by virtue of getting a crappy class yet again, but the character who stands out here is the Ninja, given Chantage so that she can always use her turn to get close to the boss and attack him with her blades. Since I sacrificed some of her offence for better HP, the attacks don't do much damage but, unlike Life Drain, they're guaranteed to connect unless she's attacking Zalera's face.

Ramza focuses on bolstering the Ninja by Yelling her, making her act more often and also increasing ninja sword damage (the formula is the sum of PA and speed, so every two Yells gives the damage a visible increase).
