Final Fantasy 9 | Excalibur II Run (PART 7)
1Welcome one and all to this special 12-hour, 12-part speedrun challenge that happens to be the most difficult achievement in one of my favorite JRPGs of all time: Final Fantasy IX, as well as one of the most grueling sidequests in the FF series as a whole.
Today we delve into the depths of Fossil Roo in order to reach the Outer Continent. There we'll meet the dwarves, discover the Black Mage Village, team up with Eiko and Amarant, and solve the mysteries of the Iifa Tree. Now I might get accused of cheating here for using safe travel/no encounters, but even if I didn't, I'd still use Flee to escape from battles, which in a way could be considered a slight alternative
NOTE: In the original PS1 version, apparently you can avoid battles on the overworld map by mashing the square button as you run, exploiting a sort of glitch/delay in Moguo's appearance
