Last time, we upgraded our airship with a hook to allow us to tow the hovercraft with us. The engineers gave us a hint to go to the cave of Eblan, located on the southwestern continent. The cave of Eblan leads directly into the Tower of Babel, where the Crystals are being stored. It's our last ditch attempt to pull off our crazy plan to steal the Crystals. Inside the cave, we found the people of Eblan, which was recently attacked by Rubicante, the last and most powerful Elemental Lord. As we approached the entrance to the tower, we found Edge, the price of Eblan and joined forces in order to stop Rubicante.
CHAPTER 13 - THE TOWER OF BABEL, II
So it turns out that the 'Blood' weapons are really not all that useful. The Blood Sword is weaker than my current gear, so I'll stick with the Ice Sword. In this area, you'll find an 'Ogrekiller', which works well against the 'Mad Ogres' you'll encounter here. You'll find an 'Ashura' here as well, which is a nice upgrade for Edge. One interesting treasures gives you a whopping 82,000 Gil, which in the original is only 10,000. This area is not really tough at all, but there's some monsters with nasty counterattacks, like the 'Coeurl' which uses the 'Blaster' move. It sometimes will result in an instant KO, which is annoying.
You'll encounter Edge's parents, the king and queen of Eblan. They were supposedly dead, but Dr. Lugae actually turned them into monsters. You'll actually fight against them, but it's really more like an event. You don't really need to attack them, but I used the auto-battle to speed things up. Before you fight Rubicante, you'll have an opportunity to change your gear, so make sure Cecil and Kain have Ice weapons and armor equipped. As an added bonus, Rubicante will actually fully heal you before you fight. So there's no need to heal at the save point, or right before the fight.
Rubicante can be tough. He's only vulnerable when his cloak is not covering him and he'll counter each attack with 'Fira'. It's not that strong, plus you can have Rosa cast 'Shell' and 'Protect' on everyone. His special attack, 'Inferno', is very strong and will most likely kill the character he does it on. While Rubicante is vulnerable, Cecil and Kain should attack and/or Jump with their Ice weapons equipped. Rydia can use 'Blizzara' or summon 'Shiva' while Edge uses his 'Flood' ninjutsu. After Rosa casts Shell and Protect on everyone, she'll be pretty busy reviving and keeping everyone's HP up. If you work as a team, it shouldn't be too tough.
The Crystals are finally in sight! What's gonna happen?!?
