Last time, we tied up some loose ends and found out what happened to Yang, after he destroyed the cannons at the Tower of Babel a while back ago. We fought some annoying toads, got some 'Bad Breath' whiffed at us by some 'Malboros' and all we got was a new Summon and a Knife. Not the best side quest, but if we can grind a bit while we get everything we can out of this game. I'd say that's a win-win. Welp, there's not much left for us to do here on Earth, so let's get to it!

CHAPTER 17 - ODIN & EXCALIBUR

This one's a two-fer! Do you recall, after we returned to Baron and fought Cagnazzo, the water Elemental Lord who was impersonating the king? Well, sometime in the aftermath of all that, if you wander downstairs to the other throne, the true King of Baron will speak to you. He informs you to return after traveling to the Land of Summons. Well, we did that, didn't we? So let's go see what he wants. BUT, before we do that, we'll set in motion a scenario where we get a very powerful sword for Cecil: the Excalibur!

So we're still above ground after returning the Frying Pan to Yang's wife. So what we need to do is find our old airship, the Enterprise. It should still be over by Eblan. We need it so that we can pick up the hovercraft and take it over to an archipelago of islands located towards the middle of the map on the East side. You'll see an island with a town, along with some shallows that lead to another island with a cave. The town is Mythril, which at this point is not really worth exploring. But the cave is the 'Adamant Grotto'. Inside, there's a weird man who will trade you a powerful alloy called 'Adamantite' in exchange for an animal tail. It just so happens you have a 'Rat Tail' that you found in the Land of Summons! So make the trade and then head back to the other airship.

Once on the Falcon, head back underground and basically head all the way Southeast. There you'll find Kokkol's Smithy, home of the legendary blacksmith. He's currently asleep and won't wake up unless someone gives him Adamantite. Do that and he'll take your 'Sword of Legend' and make it stronger. Leave for now and head back above ground.

So now we'll head back to Baron and speak to the King. The King says he's indeed dead, but he can live forever as a Summon if you pass the test. You'll now fight Odin. I remember this boss being pretty OP in the original game, but he's kinda nerfed now. If you have Rydia summon 'Leviathan' about 2-3 times, that should be enough to take him out.

Now, we have two more things left to do. Head to Mysdia and watch the scene play out. You'll get the 'Lunar Whale', which you can use to travel to the Moon! After you get there, just head back to Earth and go back to Kokkol's Smithy underground. He'll now tell you that the sword is ready. Excalibur! Now we're done with everything on Earth. Next chapter, it's Moon time!
