Fire Emblem 5, Thracia 776. Chapter 19: "The Empire's Wrath"
Your group will be divided into 2 groups, one in the castle and one in the south.
The positioning for this chapter IS IMPORTANT for this chapter.
To recruit Amalda (ROUTE A) or Conomor (ROUTE B) you have to talk to the character you have recruited on the route you have gone, if you have gone on ROUTE A, to recruit Amalda you will have to talk to Sleif (here Schroff).
For ROUTE B to recruit Conomor you will have to talk to Miranda.
The best strategy for this
Is to use Warp Staff, talk to Conomor or Amalda, and once done rescue the person you have recruited with the person you have used for the Warp and then use the Rescue Staff.
So it is not possible to recruit these 2.
When you talk to one of these 2, their squad will change to (Green Units).
There are many items in the houses that are not worth taking, but others are interesting to take. Some of them are difficult to visit, others are easier.
REMEMBER: When there are enemies who concentrate on looting houses, they will concentrate on that task, for which they will not fight. If there are no more houses to visit or loot, the AI will switch to escaping the map.
-The 3 houses to the left of the castle are rewards that are not worth visiting, not only because of the items they give you but also because they will be the first targets to destroy the houses. The rewards are (from top to bottom, Holy Water, Silver Sword and Killer Lance).
You basically have 2 turns to kill or block, if on the second turn you fail to kill the first 2 Thief closest to the houses, or block. They will destroy the houses. You can use Rewarp from the mages to move and block the houses.
-The 4 houses on the left closest to the enemy, some of them are worth visiting, between them you get (from top to bottom): Speed Ring, Holy Water, Heal and Ensorcel. Ensorcel and Speed Ring are the most interesting to take.
The problem is that you will be close to the enemy and if you decide your units go to those houses, and you are closer to the enemy than the rest of your units, they will go to those who are going to the houses. So you have to be careful with your positioning. You can use air units, as they not only have good movement but also ignore terrain penalties and are better for this task.
-The other 2 houses on the right, not too dangerous as they are the last to be looted, you can use an unused unit to visit them. Between them they give you Heal and Wind. It's not much, but at least it's something.
STRATEGY:
There are several strategies, one is to complete the chapter as quickly as possible, visiting the houses and saving the citizens all the way to the castle. The other is to complete the chapter immediately once you start the chapter and the other is basically the same as the first, but also to farm experience.
1º For those who want to finish the chapter quickly, the idea is the character selection is to fill the minimum amount to start the chapter, to do this use characters that you have NEVER used and that at one point you are not going to use. Once started, use Leif to escape immediately, leaving the others behind and therefore those units are temporarily lost (i.e. they will be captured) and then later it is possible to rescue them. Here you lose not only experience, but also items that can be useful later on.
2nd In this chapter you concentrate not only on escaping with all the units, but also on visiting the houses and rescuing the civilians. This is very risky, not only will the enemies be chasing you but you will also be at a tactical disadvantage, both in numbers, terrain and other factors. That's why using mounted units and air units in the south is a great idea, not only do they have good movement but they can also make it easier to transport civilians, which also makes it harder for them to chase you, but you have to keep in mind that there are enemies that can have up to 11 movement!
So sooner or later they will catch up with you, if you don't help them as quickly as possible. Therefore, in the southern part, use characters with great avoid, to use it as a decoy for the other units to escape, if you have the Rescue Staff, you can rescue that unit, if you see that you have it in a critical situation or the distance from the other units is great.
Use the air units to visit the houses that you are interested in taking and then flee, and you can also use it as a dummy to lead the enemy units to more unfavourable terrain. For the northern part, at this point you also need mobility, to get to your comrades to help them, you can use more characters with mounts even if they are low level, and use characters with Authority, to raise not only the HIT but also the AVOID.
