Fix Lag & FPS Drops on Roblox – Get More FPS in Roblox
In this video I show you how to fix lag and FPS drops on Roblox. These fixes can help you get more FPS in Roblox. Fortunately, there are quite a few ways to fix lag in Roblox, especially if the lag you’re experiencing is because of dropped frames. One of the easiest options is to change your Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling setting on your PC or Laptop. While results vary, either turning on or off the setting can help fix stuttering issues in Roblox.
Another possible solution is to set the Roblox application to run with disable fullscreen optimizations enabled. This requires you to right-click on the Roblox Player shortcut and choose to open file location. Doing so will take you to the Roblox game files. To disable fullscreen optimizations you will need to right-click on the RobloxPlayerBeta file and choose to open the properties. Following this you will need to switch to the Compatibility tab and check the box next to the disable fullscreen optimizations box, then Apply.
If you are still lagging in Roblox then you can try closing other applications. By closing unneeded applications, you can get more FPS in Roblox for minimal effort. The easiest way to close an application is to click the cross in the corner. However, sometimes you will need to open the hidden icons menu and check that the application isn’t still open. If it is then you will need to right-click and choose to Exit or Quit to close the application completely.
Another way to fix stuttering in Roblox is to update your graphics drivers. If you have an NVIDIA graphics card then you can use the NVIDIA app to update your drivers. However, if your PC or laptop has an AMD graphics card then you will want to use the AMD Adrenalin software. Once you have updated your graphics card you will need to restart your PC to ensure the new drivers work correctly.
Although unlikely, it is possible that game overlays could be causing FPS drops in Roblox. Fortunately, you can turn them off quickly to test if it fixes your issue. While there are several different game overlays that you could be using, Discord and NVIDIA are common overlays used when gaming. The Discord overlay can be turned off from the Game Overlay options in the User Settings. Meanwhile, the NVIDIA app overlay can be turned off using the NVIDIA application. However, if you use the NVIDIA overlay to record gameplay or take screenshots then you might want to keep the overlay enabled.
The next method to fix lag in Roblox and other FPS issues is to turn off hardware acceleration for other applications that you may be using. For example, Discord typically has hardware acceleration enabled by default. However, you can turn it off from the Advanced options in the User Settings.
If you are still experiencing lag in Roblox then it may be due to a bad connection. Ideally, you will want to use an ethernet connection to ensure your have the best connection possible. However, if you can't then you may have 2 versions of your Wi-Fi. You can check by opening the Wi-Fi settings on your PC or laptop. If you have 2 versions of your Wi-Fi then they will be typically have the same name except with different frequencies. The 2.4G version is typically best at longer ranges as it travels further, but provides a slower connection. Meanwhile, the 5G version will typically provide faster speeds but at closer ranges.
Another possible solution is to flush your DNS and perform an Winsock reset. Doing so can fix issues with cache information and configuration issues that may be making you lag in Roblox. This can be done using the command prompt on your PC or laptop.
An often overlooked method to fix lag and FPS drops in Roblox is to change your game settings. The first option is to set your Roblox graphics mode to automatic. However, if this doesn’t work then you can try setting the graphics mode setting to manual, and set the graphics quality to 3 bar. Additionally, you can try using 2 or 1 bars if you still have issues.
If you’re still having problems then you can turn off startup apps. These applications may be running in the background without you knowing, slowing down your PC and impacting your performance. Once adjusting your startup apps you will need to restart your PC to ensure all the applications are closed.
