In this video I show you how to change aspect ratio in CapCut PC and resize video. You can change aspect ratio of a video by selecting the Ratio button in the preview window. Typically, the button will say Ratio. However, in some cases it may say your current aspect ratio, or “Custom”.

When you have the aspect ratio menu open you will see a series of preset aspect ratios that you can use. You can resize your video by selecing one of the options. Typically, for long-form videos you will want to use 16:9. Meanwhile, for short-form content like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, you will want to use 9:19.

Another option is to change your video size in CapCut. This is often ideal if you have a specific resolution you want your video to be. To use a custom resolution will want to select Custom from the Ratio menu. Doing so will open a window where you change your video settings. To change the size of your video you will need to set the resolution to Custom. Doing so will allow you to enter a custom width and height for your video. By changing your resolution your aspect ratio will automatically change to match your resolution. Once done you can click the Save button and resize your video in CapCut.

Alternatively, you can change the aspect ratio of a video inside CapCut, rather than the project. This allows you to change the video size to whatever suits your project. To do this you will need to click the Crop Ratio button in the tool bar. Doing so will open a window where you can select Crop Ratio and choose a new ratio. Once done you can adjust the crop to include the part of your video you want, then click Save to confirm.
