If your PS4 controller (DualShock 4) isn’t working or connecting to your PlayStation 4, the issue often stems from Bluetooth interference, a desynced controller, low battery, or a faulty USB cable. Start by charging the controller for 10–15 minutes using a data-capable micro-USB cable (not charge-only) and press the PS button to test USB connection. If it doesn’t connect, reset the controller by pressing the reset button in the pinhole near the L2 button for 3–5 seconds with a paperclip.

Then, re-pair it by connecting to the PS4 via USB, pressing the PS button (light bar should glow, e.g., blue for player 1), and testing wireless connection by unplugging and pressing the PS button again. To reduce Bluetooth interference, move closer to the PS4, turn off nearby devices (e.g., phones, routers), and delete unused controllers in Settings, Devices, Bluetooth Devices.
