I decided to put up 100% runs of each of the main levels and put them on YouTube that have tips in the description. I am doing this mini series as a guide for people who will run Gex 3 100% in the future. I don’t intend to have tips for everything but just the things that you should know. This guide will feature the 100% routes for the rest of the game that is in the final video. Here is my run for reference for this category.

Here are links that explains most tricks that I used in a 100% run.

General tips are in part 1 of this guide.

Holy Moses can be an annoying level because the camel's inconsistency of staying up in the air. Here is a video that I highly recommend watching (before reading on) to show how the camel works and to learn more about the level. Basically, you mash X for the camel to go up on certain surfaces and not go down.

The camel doesn't stay up in the air on the N64 version. If you find the camel too inconsistent to work with or run the N64 version, then here's my 3:19:52 100% run that revisits the level 3 times and doesn't use the OOB at all. But keep in mind that this run has outdated strats and is here just to show the outline.

When I go on the elevator up to the first Anubis like enemy, I wait until the elevator passes the 4th line in the wall to jump and do a tailbounce to get up there fast.

It is important to not hit the checkpoint when you first go to the spider area. If you do then fall off.

At 2:42, you can activate the fire spinner early by going to the right and then jumping.

The camel will always disappear when you get off him if you initially come out of the temple that has the TV and OOB with the camel. You have to reset his position by entering the way you first come in. You also have to collect a staff with the camel if you have the camel with you. This is because a cutscene appears, resulting the camel to reset because the cutscene camera is too far away from the camel.

I finally found a setup for the camel OOB that is sort of consistent compared to other ones. First go up at the triangle in the floor that is 3 triangles away from the right. When you have some height, go to the right a little bit and keep on going up.

Be careful when traveling near fire pits with the camel because the camel can get stuck inside a fire pit and you can't get on the camel anymore.

When going to the upper part area with the camel from the beginning area, just go diagonally and not just forward or right. Also don't land on the floor or you'll die.

Jump when you collect any collectables with the camel because the camel has a chance to clip through the floor.

At 5:57 when entering the room with the Anubis in it, turn the camera to the right so he won't attack you early on.

When you collect the 100th fly coin, I would wait until the remote is gone before going on the camel because since it is bigger then a pawprint and a bonus coin, you have more of a chance of clipping through the floor and dying when getting on the camel. When you TV Cancel off to the camel, don't get off the camel until attempting the last TV cancel.

You need a frame perfect tailwhip to get on the camel again for the last cancel. It saves around 1 minute. For these types of TV cancels, some Gex 2 and 3 runners like to time it and hit the square button only once at the right time but I always spam the square button. Also be sure Gex lands right on the green pad or else if you fail to get the initial tailwhip in, Gex will go in the other TV and softlock the game.

If you get off the camel/donkey in Holy Moses/Western Station, then Gex will go in the TV that you canceled off but if you travel too far away from the TV then the game won't load properly and it will softlock the game. Making Gex die will turn the effect off.

As Gex is spitting at the 3 paw prints in the last room, you have to have the pawprints on screen to get them. Also, when you zoom in with the camera, it is actually above Gex and he disappears every time you do this. Since you actually shoot right in the middle of the camera, you are also shooting right into the collectible that is hovering above Gex when you get a collectible this way. So you have to wait until the collectible vanishes before you can shoot again.

Thanks for reading all of this and watching my run.

This level run's time is about 7:39.81 and it was achieved on April 3rd, 2016
Done on a PS2 using FDS using a PS1 disk.
Timing starts when I can control Gex inside the level and ends at the first frame of the first blackout when I enter the last TV.
