I decided to put up 100% runs of each of the main levels and put them on YouTube that have tips in the description. I am doing this mini series as a guide for people who will run Gex 3 100% in the future. I don’t intend to have tips for everything but just the things that you should know. This guide will feature the 100% routes for the rest of the game that is in the final video. Here is my run for reference for this category.

Army Channel may be the most straight forward level there is in the game. One of the hard and tricky parts is the maze. The first thing to know is that you don't have to kill the soldiers but you do have to destroy all of the lights in the maze.

When you are in the tank, try to have the least amount of building parts being blown up as that will generate lag. However, making shortcuts from blowing up parts could be faster when used wisely.

When you are doing the tent mission the way this video does, hitting the last tent as late as possible of a tailwhip attack can let you have more frames to karate kick back to the TV. There is also this strat that you can do that involves skipping the cutscene. You have to death abuse by letting the soldier hit you as you hit the last tent and you only have a few frames to do it. You can also get hit by flying bullets from a spotlight tower. Here's a video that shows this trick by getting hit by the soldier.

At 2:25, I skipped the first bug crate to avoid the remote cutscene from playing. You could skip most of the crates but I find this one the easiest.

When you are in the hut, it is faster to jump on the ground and over the bed as opposed to jumping on the bed because Gex stops less to collect the fly coins.

Whenever you come out of the hut, the spotlight tower that is near the hut resets its position and starts all over again.

Jumping over the mines can be hard but if you are having a tough time with this then have Gex run to the side of the mine instead of running to the mine head on. Otherwise the depth perception can be off and Gex can run in the mine sooner then you think.

Again, memorizing fly coin numbers in certain spots throughout the run is a great advantage. These are one of those levels. You should memorize the total count when you go in the maze which is 63. If you don't, then you might be searching for a fly coin in the maze when it is elsewhere.

The maze is the hardest part of this level and you could easily forget a collectible. The easiest thing to do is to keep on going through the route a couple of times. An important thing to mention is that Gex is invincible when he is on a machine gun. So when you are on a machine gun and a walking grenade is going to blow up a moment later, you should stay on the gun. But it is faster to get off once you know a little more about when they blow up at certain times and try to not get hit. Gex's karate kick also makes him invincible to the grenades.

Also another tip is to make visual cues to go to fly coins more directly. For example at 5:33, I go towards the snow that is on the wall because the next fly coin is in the gap next to it.

When you are in the last building, you can karate kick and then skip the cutscene while midair. It requires little timing and you should jump before Gex passes the "Rez" bricks.

Done on a PS2 using FDS using a PS1 disk.
Timing starts when I can control Gex inside the level and ends at the first frame of the first blackout when I enter the last TV.
