I decided to put up 100% runs of each of the main levels and put them on YouTube that have tips in the description. I am doing this mini series as a guide for people who will run Gex 3 100% in the future. I don’t intend to have tips for everything but just the things that you should know. This guide will feature the 100% routes for the rest of the game that is in the final video. Here is my run for reference for this category.

Here are links that explains most tricks that I used in a 100% run.

General tips are in part 1 of this guide.

Mystery TV is pretty much straight forward yet there are bears that could hit you every time and this tricky jump from the lamp to the 2nd floor. Make sure that you do the “Find and Beat the Three Mini-Games” mission first while doing the 100 fly coin remote and then afterwards go in the “Find and Beat the Three Mini-Games” TV because the TV will always activate once you complete the three mini games. If you find yourself always getting hit, there are a lot of green fly TVs in this level.

When running at the hunters at 00:22 and 00:27, I stop moving just for a second to make sure that the hunters hit me. To avoid Gex being knocked back when the hunters hit him, turn him sideways. For the TV cancel at 00:36, I first go to the left of the green pad and then go above the green pad slightly before the bear turns around.

Getting everything in the sink in 1 try could be hard. For the start of this, I first drop down, holding down the up button on the pad and make Gex hit the bubble and after that, I make Gex turn right to hit the next one. The depth perception of these bubbles are a little off so I would move to the center of the bubble more and try to hit them.

To avoid getting hit by the bears, I have Gex’s shadow near and not in the shadow of the bears and hit away. But when the bear is right at the edge of the shadow when he's attacking you then hit him at a further distance. Example is at 07:24.

At 2:55, you can first hit the fly TV to the right and then go forward. When you are moving back, go near the TV to get the fly buzz around you. Keep in mind that since a green fly is traveling in circles around any green fly TV, you would want to go to the area where the green fly is at rather then going near the TV for a split moment hoping that you would get the fly.

At 4:00 once you get in the room, there is this certain spot to the left that is near the entrance that Gex can get in the mini game earlier rather then getting on the pool table and going in. Just go in the room on the left side and about 0.7 seconds of moving, stop and you should make it. It may take you a few tries to get this right.

It is safe to drop down moving forward when you are going for the pawprint hidden in the giant pool table.

You can hold start to skip most of the cutscenes that play at 6:40, 6:46, and at 7:10. At 7:17, make sure that the other bear in the background is on screen when you kill the first bear to have the other bear right next to the fly coins when you kill the next bear. Since Gex has to wait for about 6 seconds before going inside a TV after collecting the 100 fly coin remote, it is faster to collect the bear's fly coin as the last one rather then collecting the fly coin that is on the floor last when going to the TV after getting the bear's coin.

If you are running this on the N64 version, there is this OOB skip that was found that only works on the N64 that lets you skip directly to the maze. You have to tailbounce in the fireplace. Also, you can get into a beta room.

Thanks for reading all of this and watching my run.

This level run's time is about 7:57.75 and it was achieved on May 7th, 2016
Done on a PS2 using FDS using a PS1 disk.
Timing starts when I can control Gex inside the level and ends at the first frame of the first blackout when I enter the last TV.
