This video comprises one successful demo and some outtake(s) for the challenge of completing Going Down's Map 15 'Gladiator' from a pistol start, scoring all monsters, items and secrets and taking no damage whatsoever. There is commentary throughout the video, mostly recorded live as I played.
Going Down is a popular 32-map Boom-compatible megawad for Doom 2 completed by Cyriak Harris in 2014 and can be downloaded for free from: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/gd

What a difference an invulnerability makes! There is just enough time to get in to the arena, greet all the enemies and make my escape before it runs out, and thankfully monsters cannot enter the lift. The strategy may be simple but I hope my execution is entertaining to watch, with camera mode showing us the monster horde more clearly than I could see them from the lift. There are, inevitably, references made to the movie 'Gladiator' but I don't spoil the film at all. Unfortunately Russell Crowe was unavailable for voiceover, so you're stuck with my low-budget effort. Enjoy!
