I don't play the convict much, because she feels like a worse version of the Hunter.
Her revolver is decent, her shotgun has its uses, but then it gets weird. The enraging photo encourages playing badly, and you really don't want it to go off during boss
fights. The molotov cocktail is kind of overkill for room-cleaning, and has a very long cooldown. It's OK against bosses, unless you get the Bullet King (as I did) or the Ammoconda (as I did). Both hover, and are therefore immune to fire on the floor.

This run seems to be dominated by the "Serious Cannon", which is a very unserious weapon that hurt me almost every time I tried to use it. Reloading that thing under fire is just painful. Still, at least I got a lot of use from the enraging photo. Using the cannon to kill Blockner was a sign of sincere, heartfelt disrespect.

... and then he came back for round 2. Double Blockner is, I think, an anomaly caused by the first Blockner encounter in any save file being a special one.

This run is a fine example of RNG screw and how to deal with it: Identify the best boss-killing weapon (in this case, the proton pack), and don't waste its ammo on room-cleaning. The screw was, to some degree, self inflicted. This game tries very hard to give the player equipment that has been unlocked but not yet used. So my buying up all the crap from Ox and Cadence is coming back to bite me.

Still, my crappy weapon selection was boosted by some very good passives. Rocket bullets add 10% damage to everything, and the medal of valor adds 30% damage to bosses.

That medal also travels with you to the past for some reason. That made Black Stache even easier than normal, and he's not particularly hard anyway, even if you don't cheese the whole encounter by trapping his minions.
