I run Hawken in this video using Wine 1.5.25 through PlayOnLinux. To put it shortly, the game works. However, the launcher is buggy and won't always work. Also, when I tried an online match (later in the video), after dying I couldn't shoot anymore. Even after multiple respawns my guns remained down. This could just be me not knowing how to play the game though.

If you are on Ubuntu 12.04, it should work just as well as it did here. If you're on Ubuntu 13.04, you'll definitely see a performance improvement in terms of fps. This is because Ubuntu 13.04 is much more optimized compared to 12.10 and 12.04.

With Dungeon Defenders and Painkiller being Unreal Engine 3 games that support Linux, there's hope that Hawken may one day come to Linux as well. We just need to push for it.

I had to disable "Unredirect Fullscreen" in Compiz Config Settings Manager to record this game, otherwise the recording would flicker. Hawken performs the same either way.
