This video shows Serious Sam 3 BFE gameplay natively on Full settings at 1920x1080 (fullscreen) on Ubuntu 12.10 64Bit.

Serious Sam 3 is a first-person shooter, set in a time when aliens have invaded Earth! SS3 is very heavy on my computer's hardware, but is well worth it considering the cool looking graphics. It runs on the Serious Engine 3.5, which has been ported to Linux by Croteam themselves.

If you don't have this game, do get it! It's great fun on singleplayer with the campaign, but truly shines when you play co-op with many friends.

I've set the FPS on, so you can view the performance of the game at any given time at the top right.

I had to disable "Unredirect Fullscreen" in Compiz Config Settings Manager to record this game, otherwise the recording would flicker. Oddly enough, I didn't see any performance loss with it on or off.

Without a doubt, the game performs better when I'm not recording. However, the initial game movie scenes when starting up always seem to stutter once in a while ( I take it's not yet optimized ).

In this video, I initially try out three Survival maps. The remainder of the video is me playing one level of Campaign mode (Unearthing the sun).

Serious Sam 3 BFE joins the ranks of Oil Rush in being games that really push your hardware on Linux.
