How to Add Cloudflare DNS to PS5 Internet (Best for GAMING)
To add Cloudflare DNS to your PS5, you'll need to manually change your network settings. This process is straightforward and can potentially improve your online gaming experience by reducing latency and speeding up connections to game servers.
Step-by-Step Guide
Go to Settings: From the PS5 home screen, navigate to the Settings icon (the gear in the top right corner).
Select Network: In the Settings menu, choose Network.
Set Up Internet Connection: In the Network section, select Settings, then Set Up Internet Connection.
Choose Your Connection: Select your current connection, either Wi-Fi or LAN (wired). If you're using Wi-Fi, you may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi password. A wired connection is generally recommended for the best gaming performance.
Go to Advanced Settings: Once you've selected your connection, press the Options button on your controller, then choose Advanced Settings.
Change DNS Settings: In the Advanced Settings menu, find DNS Settings and change it from "Automatic" to Manual.
Enter Cloudflare DNS addresses:
For Primary DNS, enter 1.1.1.1.
For Secondary DNS, enter 1.0.0.1.
Complete the Setup: Keep the other settings as they are:
IP Address Settings: Automatic
DHCP Host Name: Do Not Specify
MTU Settings: Automatic
Proxy Server: Do Not Use
Test the Connection: After entering the DNS settings, select OK to save the changes. The PS5 will then test the internet connection. You can now do a speed test to see if your download and upload speeds have improved.
