How to Share Games with Friend on STEAM Account (Best Method)
1The best way to share games with a friend on Steam is through Steam Families. This feature, which replaced the old Steam Family Sharing system, allows you to create a "family" of up to six people and share your entire game libraries with each other. It's a much more flexible and robust system than the previous one.
How Steam Families Works
Shared Library: All games in the libraries of the family members are pooled together. You can see and play games owned by others in your family.
Simultaneous Play: This is a major improvement. If you have two different games in your family's shared library, two different people can play them at the same time. If a game is owned by multiple family members, multiple people can play it at the same time. For example, if two people in a Steam Family each own a copy of a game, two different people can play that game simultaneously.
Parental Controls: Steam Families also includes parental control features, which allow adults to manage what games children can access and when they can play.
How to Set Up a Steam Family
Join the Steam Families Beta: You and your friends will need to opt into the Steam Families beta.
Open your Steam client.
Go to Settings Interface.
Under "Client Beta Participation," select "Steam Families Beta" from the dropdown menu.
Restart your Steam client.
Create a Steam Family:
Open your Steam client and go to Account Details (you can find this by hovering over your username in the top menu).
Click on "Family Management."
Click "Create a Family" and give it a name.
Invite Friends to Your Family:
From the "Family Management" page, click "Invite a Member."
Select a friend from your friends list and choose whether to add them as an Adult or a Child.
The invited friend will receive an alert and must accept the invitation.
Once your friend has joined the family, their eligible games will automatically appear in your library and vice versa.
