How to Appear Offline for PS5 or PS4 using Phone PlayStation App (Best Method)
To appear offline on your PS4 or PS5 using the PlayStation App on your phone, follow these steps:
Open the PlayStation App:
Launch the PlayStation App on your iOS (14.0 or later) or Android (8.0 or later) device. Sign in with the same PlayStation Network (PSN) account used on your PS4 or PS5.
Navigate to Settings:
From the app’s home screen (Play tab), tap the Gear icon in the top-right corner to access Settings.
Change Online Status:
Scroll to the Console Management section and select Online Status or Personal Info | Mes
saging -Online Status and Now Playing (depending on app version).
Choose Appear Offline from the options (Online, Busy, or Appear Offline). Tap Done or confirm to save the change.
Key Notes:
This setting applies to both PS4 and PS5 consoles linked to your PSN account, so you don’t need to select a specific console.
Your status will remain Appear Offline until you change it back to Online or Busy, even after logging out or restarting the app/console.
If you sign into a PS3, PS Vita, or PS TV, you may appear online, as these devices don’t support the offline status setting.
Some games may still show you as online to other players, and you can still receive voice chat or game invites while appearing offline.
Ensure your console is in rest mode with Stay Connected to the Internet enabled (PS4/PS5 Settings - System - Power Saving - Features Available in Rest Mode) for the app to communicate with it.
