How to Screen Mirror Samsung Phone to Google TV (Fast Method)
To screen mirror your Samsung phone to a Google TV Streamer, follow these steps:
Ensure Compatibility and Setup:
Confirm your Samsung phone supports screen mirroring (most Samsung phones running Android 5.0 or later do, often branded as Smart View).
Ensure your Google TV Streamer is powered on, connected to your TV via HDMI, and both the phone and streamer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Enable Casting on Google TV Streamer:
On your TV, go to Settings - Apps - See all apps - Show system apps- Chromecast built-in and ensure it’s enabled.
Check for firmware updates via Settings - System- About - System Update to ensure compatibility.
Access Smart View on Your Samsung Phone:
Swipe down from the top of your Samsung phone’s screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
Look for the Smart View tile (it may be labeled as “Screen Mirroring” on older models).
If you don’t see it, tap the three-dot menu or edit button (pencil icon) in Quick Settings to add Smart View to the panel.
Tap Smart View to start scanning for devices.
Select the Google TV Streamer:
Your phone will display a list of available devices. Select your Google TV Streamer (it may appear as “Google TV,” “Chromecast,” or the custom name you set during setup).
If prompted, enter the code shown on your TV screen to confirm the connection.
Start Screen Mirroring:
Once connected, your Samsung phone’s screen will mirror on the TV, displaying apps, videos, photos, or anything on your phone.
Keep your phone within 20 feet of the streamer for a stable connection and to minimize lag.
