How to Change your VOICE & MIC Settings in STEAM PC (Settings Tutorial)
Let’s configure your microphone and voice settings in Steam on your PC. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Open Steam: Launch the Steam application on your computer.
Access Settings: Click on the Steam tab at the top left corner of the screen, then select Settings.
Configure Your Microphone:
In the Settings window, navigate to the Voice tab.
Under Voice Input Device, choose the microphone you want to use from the drop-down menu. Ensure it’s correctly connected to your computer.
Adjust the Input volume/gain slider to set the input volume for your microphone.
If your friends can’t hear your voice, consider increasing the input volume.
Optionally, you can enable or disable advanced features like echo cancellation, noise cancellation, and automatic volume/gain control based on your preference.
Test Your Microphone:
Scroll down to the Voice Transmission Type section.
You’ll find three options: open microphone, push to talk, or push to mute.
Assign a hotkey for your chosen transmission type (if not already assigned).
Click the Start Microphone Test button to verify if your microphone is working properly.
Adjust Output Settings:
Under Voice Output Device, select your speakers or headset from the drop-down menu.
Adjust the output volume/gain as needed.
Game-Specific Settings:
Finally, when playing games, go to the game settings and choose the correct microphone there.
