How to Enable PlayStation Controller Support on STEAM (Settings Tutorial)
Enabling PlayStation controller support on Steam is straightforward. Here are the steps:
Connect Your Controller:
Plug your PlayStation controller into your PC using a USB cable or connect it via Bluetooth if your controller supports it.
Launch Steam in Big Picture Mode:
Click the monitor icon in the top-right corner of Steam to enter Big Picture Mode.
Alternatively, you can press the controller button or click the Big Picture Mode icon on the screen.
Access Steam Settings:
In Big Picture Mode, click on the Steam menu at the bottom-left corner.
Select “Settings”.
Enable Controller Configuration Support:
Navigate to the “Controller” tab in the settings.
Check the box next to “Enable Steam Input for PlayStation controllers”.
This option allows Steam to translate PlayStation controller inputs into the Steam API controller format (and also mock them as Xbox controllers).
Calibrate Your Controller (Optional):
Adjust the gyro and deadzones for your controller if needed.
Launch Your Game:
Go to your Steam library and launch the game you want to play.
Even if the game doesn’t natively support controllers, you can choose custom controller configurations for it.
Enjoy Gaming!:
You’ll be able to use your PlayStation controller seamlessly within Steam and your games.
