We do this by downloading and install the Voxel Map mod, which is a minimap updated and fully working in Minecraft 1.15.1. Voxel Minimap is a long standing minimap mod that adds everything from waypoints to let you see mobs, cave systems, villagers, and even other players all with your minimap. It even creates a larger map of your world as you travel through more areas letting you create a usable world map that you can click, drag, and check out your entire world with. Overall, Voxel Map is the best Minecraft minimap mod, so let’s go ahead and learn how to add a minimap to Minecraft 1.15.1 using Voxel Map!
The first step of getting a minimap in Minecraft 1.15.1 is actually download and install the Fabric mod loader. Fabric is how #VoxelMap actually installs itself in Minecraft 1.15.1. It uses Fabric to run and add itself to Minecraft. You can find Voxel’s download link in the description above. Once you are there, you want to download the vanilla version of Fabric. Once you have it downloaded, right click on it, click on ‘Java TM Platform SE Binary’, and then the Fabric mod loader will open up. Once you do that, you will just click the ‘install’ button. Fabric will nearly instantly install.
Once you have done that, it is time to download VoxelMap for Minecraft 1.15.1. You can find VoxelMaps’ official download link in the description above. After you are there, scroll down and look at the right-hand side of the screen. You will see a ‘#Minecraft 1.15’ section. Under that, you will see a download for Fabric 1.15.1. Click on the download button next to this version, and you will be take off to a page where your #Minimap will download. You will need to keep the file on Google Chrome and save it on Mozilla Firefox.
Now, it’s time to install your minimap in Minecraft 1.15.1. To do this, click on the little Windows icon in the top or bottom left of your screen. After that, search for the ‘Run’ application. Open that app, and you will see a text box. In it, type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will open. In it, you will see ‘.minecraft’. Open that folder, and you will see a ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t have a mods folder, create one! All you need to in order to install a minimap in Minecraft 1.15.1 is drag and drop VoxelMap and the FabricAPI into this folder.
At this point, all you need to do in order to add a minimap to Minecraft 1.15.1 is open up the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow to the left of the play button, click the ‘Fabric’ version, and then, click play. Minecraft 1.15.1 will open up with Voxel Map installed!
