Thus, any Forge mods will work on your server as long as they are server compatible. Luckily, most mods are server compatible when it comes to Minecraft 1.15.1. Thus, without any more delays, let’s go ahead and jump right on into how you can download and install mods on a Minecraft 1.15.1 server!
First and foremost, you will need to setup a Minecraft Forge server for 1.15.1. Luckily, we have an in-depth tutorial for how to make a modded Minecraft 1.15.1 server in the description above. It will go through all the steps of setting up Forge on a Minecraft 1.15.1 server, and even show you how to allow your friends to join your Minecraft server. It covers it all except actually adding mods to your Minecraft 1.15.1 server. So once you have Forge server setup, we can go ahead and do that!
Once you modded server is setup, we need some Minecraft 1.15.1 mods to add to it. You can find a few 1.15.1 compatible Minecraft mods in the description above. However, any more that is updated to Minecraft 1.15.1 will work on a server. Just make sure your mods are 1.15.1 compatible. Otherwise, they won’t work.
After you have your 1.15.1 mods downloaded, we can go ahead and install them on your Minecraft server. This is a super simple process. All you need to do is open up your server folder, open up the ‘mods’ folder in it, and drag-and-drop any mods that you want to install into this mods folder.
Once you have done that, you will also need to install the mods locally. This is as simple as clicking on the 'mods' button on the Minecraft homepage, clicking 'Open Mods Folder', and then, dragging-and-dropping the mods from your modded Minecraft 1.15.1 server into the mods folder. Then, you can restart Minecraft 1.15.1 making sure you are playing the Forge server when you open Minecraft back. Now, you are good to join your modded Minecraft server!
