About this video: In this video, we go over every single step of downloading, installing, and starting to play Botania in Minecraft 1.16.5. What is the Botania mod? Well, it a mod that adds in ‘natural magic’ to Minecraft and focuses on flora. Truthfully, it is one of the best plant-based Minecraft mods ever. One of the coolest things about Botania is that it has a book called the ‘Lexica Botania’ which has all of the information about the mod and how to do all of the things in it. So, let’s go ahead and install Botania in Minecraft 1.16.5.!
The first step of getting Botaina is actually downloading and install Forge. You can find our in-depth guide to getting Forge in the description above. It will go over every single step of downloading, installing, and setting up Forge for 1.16.5. We even go over some of the issues you could have installing Forge.
After we have Forge, we can move on to downloading Botania. Click the link in the description above to be taken to the official Botania download page. Once you are there, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.16’ section. After that, download the 1.16.5 version of Botania in this section by clicking the orange download button. You will need to keep/save this file depending on your browser.
Once Botania 1.16.5 is downloaded, you need to repeat the download process above for Patchouli and the CuriousAPI. These are both required in order to add Botania in Minecraft 1.16.5 success.
After Botania is downloaded for 1.16.5, it is pretty easy to install. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. When you do this, the Run app will open. In the text box in this app, type ‘%appdata%', and hit enter. The roaming folder will open with the .minecraft folder in it. Open the .minecraft folder, and you should have a mods folder. If you don't have a mods folder, create one! Finally, to install Botania in Minecraft 1.16.5, just drag-and-drop Botania, Patchouli, and the CuriousAPI into this mods folder.
You aren’t completely finished though. You still need to open up the Minecraft launcher, select the Forge profile, and click Play. Minecraft 1.16.5 will then open up with Botania install. Once you are in Minecraft 1.16.5 with Botania, put a book and a sapling in the crafting table together to get the Lexica Botania which will show you everything you need to know about the 1.16.5 Botania mod!
