About this video: How can you add jobs to your Minecraft server? Well, in this video we show you how to setup and use the Jobs plugin Jobs Reborn. This is one of the most popular jobs plugins out there and one we personally use on our Minecraft server as well. What can Jobs Reborn do? Well, it has everything from MySQL support to daily quest, sign top lists, an API, the ability to create custom jobs for your server, great default jobs if you don’t want to change anything, great leveling mechanics, and so much more. It even works with other plugins like MCMMO and MythicMobs! These features and many more make it the best jobs plugin for Minecraft, so let’s go ahead and setup Jobs Reborn on your Minecraft server!
First things first, you will need to download and install Jobs Reborn. You can find the download link in the description above. When you are there, click the down button on that page, and Jobs Reborn will start downloading. You will need to keep/save the file depending on your browser. You will also need some kind of an eco plugin. In this video, we use Vault and EssentialsX. You can find those linked in the description above. Once you have them downloaded, install Jobs on your server by adding the .jar file to your plugins folder and restarting the server!
There are a TON of different config options for Jobs Reborn. This can make things... overwhelming when you are first setting Jobs up. I would recommend using the default jobs to learn the plugin. Check them out in-game, and use them as a base for custom jobs you may want to add. This is what we did, and we now have truly custom and unique jobs on our Minecraft server.
You can get started with config files though with the generalconfig.yml. This is where you can set your storage method, change GUIs, etc. It is all very well documented making it easy to work with, and what isn’t documented is pretty self-explanatory. When you do have all your configs setup for Jobs Reborn though, we can jump in-game and start trying things out!
The basic commands you should know are /jobs join which will open up a GUI for you to click and join a job, and /jobs leaveall which will leave jobs. There is also /jobs top (jobname) to see the top list for jobs. As a player, that is all you will need. There are a lot more commands, and those can be seen in /jobs help. You will only see commands you have the permissions for. Speaking of permissions, these can be found on the plugin’s download page, and there are all kinds of permissions including permissions that can add job boosts!
