We show you how to setup RAM for less lag in Minecraft, how to fix lag in Minecraft 1.16.1 using Optifine, and in doing so, we show you how to increase FPS in Minecraft 1.16.1. Truthfully, we really do cover it all. So, without any more delay, here is how to make Minecraft run fast on PC in 1.16.1.
The first thing you need to do in order to increase Minecraft performance is actually download and install Optifine 1.16.1. You can find our complete tutorial on downloading and installing Optifine in the description above. We have helped over 2 million people install Optifine and get it setup on the PCs, so there is no doubt that tutorial will be able to help you out!
Once you have Optifine installed, open up the Minecraft launcher and click the ‘installations’ tab at the top of Minecraft. Here, you will see a ‘Optifine’ installation. Hover over that and click the three dots that appear an select ‘edit’. Click the ‘more options’ section at the bottom of the window that appears. Then, find the ‘JVM Arguments’ section. Right at the beginning of the text box next to this section, you will see ‘-xmx:2G’. Change this to ‘-xmx:4G’ in order to add 4GB of RAM. This is first step to improving performance in Minecraft 1.16.1. Save this profile, and click the green ‘Play’ button that appears when you have over it.
Minecraft 1.16.1 will open, but you will have Optifine installed in it. It is now to learn how to configure Optifine to get less lag in Minecraft 1.16.1. This is actually very simple. Just click on ‘Options’ and then ‘Video Settings’. You can access all of the Optifine options from the menus and tabs listed here.
All of the settings in all of the video settings tabs and menus either need to be turned of ‘off’, ‘fast’, or all the down. Basically, if you can turn something off, do it, otherwise, make it the ‘fast’ setting or make it go as low as it will let you. A ‘2’ render distance for example. Now, this will not make Minecraft look pretty, but it will increase your FPS in Minecraft a ton. Thus, we recommend doing this to all settings and then, going in and turning some back up until you reach a happy medium of playability with minimum lag and at least 30 FPS.
After you have done this, you should see much less lag in Minecraft 1.16.1, and you should have increased your Minecraft 1.16.1 FPS significantly.
