About this video: In this video, you will learn exactly how to download and install a minimap in Minecraft 1.16.1. We start off showing you how to get the Fabric mod loader, which is required for Voxel Minimap, and then how to download and install Voxel minimap allow you to finally add a minimap to Minecraft 1.16.1. It is all covered in this video. Thus, without any more delay, here is how yo can get a minimap in Minecraft 1.16.1.
The first step of getting a minimap in Minecraft is actually getting the correct mod launcher. Voxel Minimap uses the Fabric mod loader which you can find linked above. When you are there, click on the ‘universal/.jar’ download button. That will download the installer. Open the file with Java, and click install at the bottom. It will quickly install the Fabric mod loader.
Now, we need to download the minimap mod for Minecraft 1.16.1. To do this click the Voxel minimap download link in the description above. That will actually take you to our text tutorial for getting Voxel Minimap. Click the yellow ‘Download Voxel Map’ button to go the official Voxel Minecraft minimap download page. Now, look at the right-hand side of the page and scroll down until you see ‘Minecraft 1.16’. Under that, you will see a download for Voxel Map. Click the purple download link next the version that is labeled for ‘Fabric’. The download will being after a few seconds. You will need to keep/save the file depending on your browser.
You need to repeat the above download process for the FabricAPI mod. This mod is required in order for your minimap to work in game. You can find the link in the description above to the download page for the FabricAPI.
We can now learn how to install a minimap in Minecraft 1.16.1. This is actually fairly easy. Just hit the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the same time. This will open the RUN application. In the text box here, enter ‘%appdata%’. That will open your roaming folder. Here, you’ll see a ‘.minecraft’ folder. Open that, and you should see a ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t, just create one! Now, to install your 1.16.1 minimap into Minecraft, just drag and drop Voxel Map and the FabricAPI into this mods folder. It’s that simple.
You aren’t completely done installing your minimap though. You still need to open the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow next to the play button, and select the ‘Fabric’ installation here. When you do that, click play. You have now downloaded and installed a minimap mod in Minecraft 1.16.1!
