About this video: In this video, we will show you exactly how to download and install Forge for Minecraft 1.16.4. What is Minecraft Forge 1.16.4? Well, it is a mod loader that allows you to add all kinds of different fun and awesome mods to Minecraft. Without Minecraft Forge, mods mods wouldn’t work at all when it comes to Minecraft. That is why it is super important and to understand exactly how to get Forge 1.16.4 downloaded and installed. So, without anymore more delay, let’s go ahead and jump right on into it!
To get started, we will need to learn how to download Forge for Minecraft 1.16.4. You can find the download link for Forge in the description above. When you click this link, it will take you to Forge’s official download page. Here, you want to make sure 1.16.4 is selected. If it isn’t, click 1.16 and the 1.16.4 in the right-hand sidebar. You will the see a download recommended and download latest section. Click on ‘Installer’ under download latest.
You will then be taken off to AdFocus. Do not click ANYTHING on this page whatsoever except the red ‘Skip’ button that will appear in the top right after 7 seconds. Once you click the red skip button, Forge will begin downloading. You will need to keep/save the file depending on your browser. As long as the file that is downloading has ‘Forge 1.16.4’ in it, you are safe to keep the file.
After you have Forge downloaded, it is time to learn how to install Forge for Minecraft 1.16.4. As long as you have the correct version of Java, link in the description above if you don’t, you will be able to install Forge without any problems. Just right-click on the Forge file you downloaded, select ‘open with’. Then, click on ‘Java’, and click ‘okay’. The Forge 1.16.4 installer will then open. Click ‘install client’, and click ‘okay’. Minecraft Forge will now install for 1.16.4! This installation process may take a while, but eventually, a pop-up will appear that says ‘Congratulations! Forge for Minecraft 1.16.4 has successfully installed’.
You aren’t complete done getting Forge for Minecraft 1.16.4 though. You still need to make sure you are opening up the correct Forge version of Minecraft. To do this, open up the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow next to the Play button, and select ‘forge’. If you have a Forge server version here, awesome. Makes sure it says ‘1.16.4-forge’ under it, and if it does, go ahead and click play. You are done.
If you don’t have a Forge version though, or if your Forge version is for a different Minecraft version, you will want to click the ‘Installations’ tab at the top of the Minecraft launcher. Click the + new button, and a pop-up box will appear. You can name this whatever you want, but the important part is click on the versions drop down box. Here, you will want to find the Forge version of Minecraft 1.16.4. Click that, and save the profile. You will see your newly created profile on the Installations tab. Hover over it and click the green Play button that appears on the right.
