About this video: If you want to know how to download and install Minecraft Maps for Minecraft 1.16 on PC, this is the video for you. We show you how to add maps to Minecraft Java Edition in order to play any map that you want. From parkour maps to survival maps to adventure maps to puzzle maps to everything in between, after this video, you will be able to get any custom Minecraft map that you want in 1.16.
The first step of install Minecraft Java Edition maps is downloading them. You can find an in-depth list of the best Minecraft Maps for 1.16 in the description above. All of these maps are great and will work perfectly in Minecraft 1.16. We have all types of maps for Minecraft 1.16, and all of them will work in Minecraft 1.16. If they aren’t updated to Minecraft 1.16, they are compatible after upgrading them to 1.16.
After you have a map downloaded, we need to make sure we have the correct map folder to install. To do this open up your zip folder and keep clicking until you see ‘DIM1’ and ‘DIM-1’. When you see these folders, click the back arrow until and drag this folder to the desktop. Double check that when you open the folder you dragged to your desktop that you see ‘DIM1’ and ‘DIM-1’. If you do, you are good to proceed.
Now, to install Minecraft Maps for Minecraft 1.16, open up the start menu, and search for the ‘Run’ application. Open the Run app and in the text box type ‘%appdata%’, and hit enter. This will open up your Roaming folder. You will see a ‘.minecraft’ folder. Open that, and you will see a ‘saves’ folder. Open that, and you will see all of your Minecraft single player worlds. To install a Minecraft Map, drag and drop the folder from your desktop into the ‘saves’ folder.
You have now installed a custom Minecraft 1.16 map! Open up Minecraft 1.16, go to single player, and you will see the map that you wanted to install there. Double click on it, and you will join right on in.
