The first step of getting mods in Minecraft 1.16.1 is actually downloading and install Forge for Minecraft 1.16.1. Luckily, we have an in-dept tutorial on how you can download, install setup, and run Forge in Minecraft. It covers everything and even troubleshoots some of the issues you may have when installing Forge, so go through that tutorial, get Forge installed, and then, come back here to add mods to Minecraft 1.16.1.
After you have Forge installed, we need to move on to downloading your Minecraft mods. In this video, we install the Iron Chests mod, the Gravestones mod, and the ConnectedTexturesMod, however this will work for all Minecraft 1.16.1 mods. Most mods are found on CurseForge, and can be downloaded by looking at the right-hand sidebar on the mod page and scroll down until you see ‘Minecraft 1.16’. When you do, click the purple download button next the version that is listed there. Your download will then begin after a few seconds. You will need to keep/save the file in order to download it.
Now that you have your Minecraft Mods download for 1.16.1, it is time to learn how to install mods on Minecraft PC. This is very simple as well assuming you have Forge installed. If not, go install it. To install mods in Minecraft 1.16.1, open up the Forge installation you have. Then, go to the ‘mods’ tab on the main menu of Minecraft. Next, click on the ‘Open Mods Folder’ button in the bottom right of Minecraft.
Your mods folder will now open. Just drag-and-drop the Minecraft mods that you want to install into this mods folder. Now, if you got back to Minecraft, your mods won’t appear. To get your mods to work, you need to click ‘Done’, and the quit out of Minecraft. Next, open up the Minecraft launcher, and launch Minecraft with the Forge installation you have. This time, Minecraft 1.16.1 will open up with your mods installed. This can be verified by clicking the ‘mods’ tab on the Minecraft main menu.
