About this video: Modrinth is a popular Minecraft mod and modpack website that also has an app called the Modrinth App that allows you to easily download and install Modrinth mods and modpacks. This is a complete guide on how to download and install the Modrinth app and use it for Minecraft mods and modpacks.
To get started, we will need to go over how to download Modrinth. There is a link in the description above to the official Modrinth App download page. On this page, click the “Download the Modrinth App” button to download the Modrinth installer.
Once Modrinth is downloaded, you will need to learn how to install Modrinth for Minecraft. Luckily, this is also super easy. All you need to do is double click on the Modrinth Installer file you downloaded. This will open the Modrinth Installer. Click next a few times agree to the terms of service along the way. Modrinth will then install.
Open the Modrinth App, and you will be prompted to sign into your Minecraft account. Doing this will allow you to play Minecraft mods and modpacks using Modrinth. If you don’t sign in, you won’t be able to play Modrinth mods using the app.
After the Modrinth App is open, click the search icon on the left-hand side. Here, you can search for modpacks, mods, data packs, shaders, and resource packs depending on what is selected at the top.
With modpacks selected, find a modpack you want to play and click “Install”. You can install as many modpacks as you want using Modrinth. After a modpack in installed, you can select the “Library” icon on the left-hand side of the Modrinth App. Here, you will be able to see all of the Minecraft profiles you have in Modrinth. This will include modpacks or custom modded installations you create.
Speaking of creating your own installations, clicking the “+” in the bottom left of the sidebar will prompt you to create an “Instance”. You can name the installation here as well as select the mod loader and Minecraft version you want. When you do this, there will be a new installation in your library.
Click on your new installation and click the “Add Content” button. From here, you can add mods, shader packs, data packs, and resource packs to your installation all from Modrinth. All of these will automatically be for the correct mod loader and Minecraft version meaning you don’t have to worry about it all!
You can play your modpacks or custom installations using Modrinth by clicking on the Play button that appears when you hover over them on the Instance on the “Library” tab. This will open Minecraft with your mods or modpack installed! You can click the console icon in the top right to confirm that Minecraft is opening even if it does take a while to launch.
