The PlayStation 5 does not have a dedicated, visible web browser app on its home screen. This is a change from the PlayStation 4, as Sony chose to focus the PS5 on gaming and media apps. However, a functional, albeit basic, web browser is still present and can be accessed through a few clever workarounds.

The Best Method: The Message Trick
This is the most direct and reliable way to open a web browser.

Open a Chat: From your PS5 home screen, press the PlayStation button on your controller to open the Control Center at the bottom of the screen. Navigate to the Game Base card (the chat icon) and select it.

Send a Link: Start a new message with a friend or a secondary account you own. In the message box, type a simple, full URL like www google com and press send.

Click the Link: The PS5 will automatically convert the text into a clickable link. Select the link you just sent to open the hidden web browser and be taken directly to Google's homepage.
